Presidio High School students competed in the Skills USA State competition in Corpus Christi April 4-7, 2019. The categories that students participated in were Welded Furniture and Fashion Design.

In the welded furniture category the students created three tables in which the frame was made out of 2x1 rectangular tubing and the top of cedar wood, stained and varnished. Each table had its own game which were made out of oak plywood and birch wood. The games were a checkerboard, connect four, and tic tac toe. These tables will be donated to the elementary for the students to enjoy.

The checkerboard table received 99 out of 100 points. The students who worked on this table were Kevin Jaquez, Alexandra Arroyo, Jesus Sanchez, Jonathan Saenz, and Mitzy Carrasco.

The tic tac toe table received 94 out of 100 points. The students who worked on this table were Evelyn Lozano, Mayra Saucedo, Irvin Rey and Javier Vazquez.

The connect four table received 90 out of 100 points. The students who worked on this table were Yahir Bailon, Xavier Santos and Raul Mendoza. All tables were giving blue ribbons and a plaque.

The Welded Furniture students are instructed by Mr Jesus Zubia and Mr Gilbert Madrid. 

Fashion Design students made a USA quilt, in which they received 80 out of 100 point receiving a red ribbon. Mrs Theresa Dominguez is the instructor for Keyla Pena and Evelyn Lozano, who created the quilt.
